Last Post!!!

We were asked to write about the pros and cons of using the home reading sheet verses using the blog. Some of the pros of the home reading sheet are that it guided me through the assignments as it gave the questions and ideas to think about and it allowed me to practice my handwriting.  The pros of the home reading blog are it was fun for me because I got to design and personalize the blog.  Another pro of the blog is I was able to edit it quickly; only I had to post one per week and I got to practice my typing.

       The cons of the home reading sheet are there was a possibility that I could loose the sheet or forget to turn it in. With the blog I only had to push the "publish post" button when I was done writing.  My last con for the  home reading sheet was I had to do two home reading sheets per week verses only having to do one blog entry weekly. The cons of the blog are I had to type it and could not practice handwriting. My last con about the home reading sheet was I had five days to do the home reading sheet but with the blog I got seven.

Twilight #3

I am reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I predicted that when I read that Bella will go to Port Angeless for another reason other than just trying on prom dresses. Bella is not even going to the prom, and Bella's opinion is not worth anything to her friend Jessica, so I do not know why Bella is even going. My prediction was somewhat right. I was wrong because Bella's opinion of the prom dresses ended up making a difference and I was right about the other reason she wanted to go to Port Angeless because she found a book in a special book store about vampires.

I believe Bella has figured out that the Cullen's are vampires. Bella got attacked by some thugs in Port Angeless and Edward appeared immediately and saved her. Then Edward and Bella went out to eat and Edward did not eat anything. He told her is was on a speacial diet. Why I think this is good information to know is vampires do not eat normal food.

Before I did the rest of my blog I read on and Edward finely admitted that he was a vampire. This was good and bad for Bella. This is good because her theory's were right. Bad because some of the reason Edward really likes her is he wants to drink her blood. Why Edward and the Cullen's are not aloud to drink human blood is because they do not want to appear as monsters.

I am reading Twilight by Stephnie Meyer. I predict that Bella will confront Edward's suspicious behavior. Edward skipped class the day the students tested each other to determine their blood type. Bella wanted to go to the nurse because she was about to faint because she saw her own blod. Mike took Bella to the nurse but, half way to the clinic Edward appeared and said, "I'll take her" and then he carried her like she weighed ten pounds. When they got to the nurse, she said Bella needed to go home, so Edward drove her. When I read on, Bella went to La Push, a local beach just outside of Forks. Bella invited Edward to the beach, but he would not go. Bella saw Jacob at the beach. Jacob's dad is the man who sold Bella her truck. Jacob said the reason why the Cullen's could not come to the beach is because their ancestors signed a treaty with Jacob's ancestors, to stay off their land. They were hunting to much there and taking all the food. I know what a treaty is because we learned about that in social studies. It is a formal agreement between two lands.

Bella decided to search the word vampire and found a promising wed site named vampires A to Z. The web site said the symptoms of being a vampire are being extremely beautiful, super fast speed, being super strong, very pail and shining like a diamond in the sun's ray's. What scared Bella the most was Edward fit all of the symptoms but, he never went to school when it was sunny. That left a big question, did Edward shin in the sun's ray's?

I predict that the next time I read that Bella is going to Port Ageless for another reason other than just trying on prom dresses. Bella is not even going to prom, and to her friend Jessica, Bella's opinion is not worth anything to her so I do not know why Bella is going.

I am reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.  I know that Edward Cullen is a vampire but I do not know about his step-sisters Rosalie and Alice, and his step-brothers Jasper and Emmett. They all are pale and look to have black make-up under their eyes.  Then again who puts BLACK make-up under their eyes?  So I think they are vampires too.  As I read I did not find my answer but I will keep reading until I find the answer.

When I was reading I noticed that Edward seemed to dislike Bella because he always makes mean faces at her, he seemed to be discussed by her.  Then I thought, why can't he quit biology?  Because that is the only class they share.  I read on and I found that Edward tries to quit biology but they were no openings for any other classes. I read on and found my question did not make since because Edward asked Bella to go to the spring prom with him.  She said no because she is going out of town that week. The only reason she is going out of town is because she is very clumsy and she can not dance. She made up an excuse that she was going to Seattle.  

    I predict the next time I read that Bella will confront Edward for the suspicious behavior towards her and the curious coincidences that he is always around. Like when he stopped the van he was nowhere near her and he pushed the van away with his bare hand, denting it.  

Maniac Magee

I am reading Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. Before I read I thought, why do they call him ''Maniac Magee''? I read on and because he did so many crazy things and the meaning of maniac is crazy, they called him maniac and his last name is Magee so they called him ''Maniac Magee''.

When I was reading I had a question, will Maniac ever find a home? I read on and he does,The girl Amanda who let Maniac borrow her book said he could have her room. Now Maniac Magee has a house to call his home and a new family to take care of him.

The main events were, Maniac ate a piece of Mars bar's candy bar. No one should eat his candy bar because when mars bar stare's, it is tougher than McNab's. That's one mean stare and he used it on maniac!  Amanda saved him from mars bar and now maniac lives's with Amanda as a sweet family.

Maniac Magee

I am reading Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. When I was reading I thought why did McNab throw a frog instead of a baseball? Then I thought McNab HATES to be beat and he wanted it to be inposidle for Maniac to catch the ball. Mainac tapped the frog when it was thrown to him, but MaNab thought the frog would just get squished and that would be the third strike and he would be out. Maniac was to this day the first one to hit a fast frog.

When I was reading I noticed that the town was split in two parts the east side and west side of town. I looked up when the book was written and it was in 1999. That was when I was born so that was when blacks and whites were treated equally. Then I thought,why did the author Jerry Spinelli want the town to be divided? That is when it occured to me that the book was supposed to have taken place before segregation, because there are several comments about white and blacks being separate. I am thankful that we have desegration today.
